As a Certified Personal Trainer, I have been fortunate to work with people of all ages and fitness levels to help them achieve their fitness goals. With a kinesiology background and Health Sciences degree from York University, I have helped many not only get in great shape, but minimize pain from injuries and chronic diseases.

As a child, I was challenged by a blood disorder that required frequent hospital visits, daily supplements, and eventually the removal of my spleen at eight years old. Thanks to the miracle team of doctors and nurses at SickKids Hospital who performed my surgery, I went from living in a protective bubble to finally being able to play sports. I joined everything from soccer, to track and field, to basketball, and swimming. I quickly developed a passion for athletics, a curiosity for life sciences and kinesiology, and the need to understand the impact of diseases on the human body.

I have worked with athletes, beginners, and everyone in between. Each workout is tailored to your specific fitness level to safely maximize results while having fun. My routines have helped many people reduce pain from chronic diseases including osteoarthritis, and problems like plantar fasciitis.

After majoring in Human Biology and Life Sciences at the University of Toronto, I started my career in digital media and marketing. The content that we are creating for the CleanWorkout blog is founded on scientific principles to help people live healthier, more balanced lives.

As the Co-Founder and Assistant Cook for Better than Yia Yia’s Mediterranean Catering in Toronto, Ontario, I spend the majority of my time experimenting with new recipes, spices and ingredients. I enjoy creating delicious, fresh, healthy, antioxidant-rich recipes for the CleanWorkout audience and for our personal training clients.

As Justin’s older sister, I was present for the challenges that he faced growing up with Spherocytosis. It explains why he is so driven to encourage people to become physically active, no matter where they are starting out, and why he is constantly educating himself on therapeutic treatments for chronic illnesses and pain management.

We want to provide useful and informative content to educate and enrich the lives of our readers and clients. Hopefully we can also raise awareness of important heath and wellness issues along the way.

ashley profile
As a busy mom with two small children, Ashley has to be creative in the kitchen. Look out for her family-friendly healthy recipes!

We were digitally introduced to Ashley through a mutual friend and immediately noticed her passion for fitness, positive attitude, and radiant personality.

Ashley lives with her partner Brian in Kenora – located in beautiful northwestern Ontario – with their children, Benjamin (2 years old) and Madyn (5 months old).

Ashley has a Masters in public policy, administration and law from York University and is self-employed as a consultant (project management).

Ashley hasn’t always been passionate about proactively living a healthy life, but in the early 2000’s, she started setting a fitness goal each year.  She now believes that health and fitness are such integral parts of ones life that she would like to inspire other busy professionals and parents of young children to make time for physical activity, and choose to eat healthfully.

In her spare time she enjoys reading, trying new recipes, spending time with Brian and her little people, and doing anything outdoors.  Read more about Ashley and learn why she is #OurInspiration.
